We went to the Mountain!!

We were invited by some dear friends of ours to venture to Mount Rainier for the day. And what an adventure it was!! We did manage to make it without chains on our SUV but I think I do have a few more grey hairs from the effort. Chuck is a great driver but it's the steep hills with lots to look at WAY below us and no guard rails. Oh yeah, one way roads. Did I mention no guard rails?? Chuck did try and console me with "Be strong for the kids honey" and "We wouldn't go all the way to the bottom, the trees will stop us. " Needless to say, I wasn't consoled!! This is Amanda, Adri, and Ashly.
Amands is missing 3 teeth and 2 more are loose.
Ashly is only mising 1 but has 2 loose.
This is our Christmas Tree!! They were quite smart and used a sled to help trek it to our car. Because of slim pickin's and how far it was to trek to the trees (and the snow was really deep) Chuck went with the other guys and they just chopped down what they first came to. For having to do that, we ended up with a really nice tree. It started out as 11 feet tall but to fit in our house, it's now 9 feet. Every year Chuck and I buy an ornament for us and one for each of the kids. This year that's all we have on the tree along with popcorn strands. Looks rather nice, if I say so myself.
Our friends made a bon fire in the snow and we sat around it with our hot chocolate, chili and cookies. We had a few snowball fights and lots of sledding.

What a way to begin the Christmas Season :)
