We're home~

We made it home safe, sound, and a little tanner!! (The kids are ALOT tanner) The 30 degree drop in temperature will take a little time to get used to. And the Seattle rain. Maui rain and Oahu rain was warm, felt great. Not this cloudy cold stuff.

What a vacation. I'll try and post a few pictures at a time. We took ALOT of pictures. Our camera card holds about 500 shots, we emptied it every other day. Multiply that by 21 days. We took ALOT of pictures. (I tried to post some while on vacation but the internet connection was shaky and slow.)

Don't tell the kids but on the flight home, Chuck and I were already planning our trip back. "Our trip" as in just the 2 of us not all 6. But only for a week~

I'll get on those pictures!! (As soon as Chuck can help me)

Aloha!!

We finally have an internet connection that can handle a blog post.

What a week we had in Maui. I can't even begin to describe what a beautiful island and what beautiful people we met.

Chuck, KayLee and Amanda had surfing lessons from some wonderful local people. I have a few pictures which I've been trying to post. We drove around the island as far as we could go. Mendes Ranch was a highlight for everyone~horseback riding. Beautiful views but the ride there was much to be desired. Barbed wire was no comfort from keeping us from going over the edge of the cliff.

Snorkeling, swimming, shopping, swimming, beach combing, oh, did I mention swimming???

I'll try and get some pictures posted.

Old Pictures

Chuck gave me a project. He wanted me to look for a particular family photo. Of course what seemed to be a simple task turned out to take me 2 hours. But in the process of looking through all our disks of past pictures, I found these adorable ones of Ashly and Amanda.

Chuck likes to give each child a turn with the camera whenever we are out and about. It gives us quite the family discussion later. Learning what was important to each one and why.

I hadn't seen these ones. We were on the ferry to Whidbey Island, 2005.

They are quite the pair~

(For those who need help, Amanda is in the white shirt, the other two are Ashly.)

Hiking

July 21st we went on a hike to Sheep Lake on Mount Rainier. KayLee and Joshua were still crashed from Middle School camp so we only had Ashly and Amanda. The wall climbing the girls are doing is at a spot after you get to the Lake. Everyone else was resting except my girls and Chuck. They talked their friend into joining them. Quite the adventure but alot of fun.

STILL no chickenpox~

The only child that has gotten the chickenpox is from the other family that was trying to get them also. She stayed at the contaminated home all afternoon, we were only there 2 hours. So my guess is we weren't there long enough.

I'm only half upset though. Last Saturday, Ashly and Amanda had their AWANA Grand Prix. I'll post pictures later. This Wednesday the girls have AWANA Awards night. Thursday we are going to Portland on the Amtrak train with our Homeschool Co-Op. Not exactly things we want to miss.

But we STILL need the chickenpox!!

Josh has been sick~

He woke up with a slight fever last Monday and has a terrible cough. But that's it. He's been down all week but red spots are not in sight.

Everyone else is feeling great. Granted it's only been 11 days since they were exposed.

We'll see what happens!!

Praying for Chicken Pox!!

Yes, you read correctly. We are praying for the chicken pox. Actually, I have been praying to "find" them for a year now. KayLee is 13, Josh is 12 and that is getting border line of being quite dangerous.

My prayer of "finding"them was answered last Monday at our Homeschool Co-op. One of the other Mom's had a daughter who was still in the contagious stage, so we had a little party at her house. KayLee and Joshua played cards with the suffering child. Ashly and Amanda sat by her for about 10 minutes. We were there for almost 2 hours. That should be do the trick.

However, we need to be done with them by the 20th of April!! Ya never know~miracles DO happen.

I'll let ya know how it goes~If they let me, I may even take pictures.
